Exotic Pets

All Creatures Great and Small

From the smallest pocket pets like sugar-gliders to feathery parrot friends to the largest pythons; we are one of the only facilities in Southeast Tennessee fully equipped with the experience, knowledge, training and ability to properly care for your exotic animals. Many problems can arise from lack of owner awareness. Fortunately, it will be difficult to find an animal Dr. Woods has NOT worked with in his unique past.

It is during these visits that thorough investigation is done to determine what husbandry is being done well and what needs to change to best facilitate your pet's needs.  Even the “oddest” of pets require routine evaluation for any underlying conditions.

Unlike cats and dogs, exotic pets oftentimes hide illnesses until their owners and veterinarian are left with few options.  Identifying issues early and making proactive choices can provide the best quality of life for your pet.

We offer general wellness procedures such as non-invasive nail/wing/beak trimming, surgical procedures like spaying/neutering, growth removal, teeth extraction/filling/floating and much more.

Here are just a few of the species we can treat:

  • Birds/Parrots

  • Reptiles: Snakes, Turtles, Lizards, Iguanas, etc..

  • Primates

  • Rabbits/Ferrets

  • Guinea Pigs

  • Sugar Gliders

  • Flying Squirrels

  • Hedgehogs

  • … and so many more! If you’ve got it, we will probably treat it!
